Arora MP and Bhola MLA inaugurate reconstruction of Rs.22 Cr roads in Focal Point

Ludhiana: MP (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora accompanied by Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal inaugurated work of construction of roads in Focal Point (Phase 1,2 and 3) here on Saturday. These roads were in a dilapidated condition over the years as these were not repaired due to one or another reason. There was a long-pending demand by commuters and industrialists of the area to reconstruct these roads on priority basis.  By middle of next year none of the Focal Point road will be left which has not been relaid.

    Arora was given a warm welcome on his arrival by the industrialists and others. Sweets were distributed as a mark to celebrate the beginning of reconstruction of roads by Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana.

    Speaking on the occasion, Arora said Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana (MCL) will spend Rs.22 crore on construction of these roads. He  highly thanked the chief minister, Bhagwant Mann on whose initiative the work on these roads has been started and funds have been released.  He also thanked Sandeep Rishi Municipal Commissioner Ludhiana for taking immediate action on this work.

    On the occasion, he asked the officials concerned to ensure quality of the roads because no compromise with the quality of work will be tolerated. He said the roads are to be reconstructed with concrete which will have more life compared to other ones. He said the work of roads construction will be completed by March-end next year. He said earlier the work of roads has been taken up in Focal Point (Phase 4 to 8) by PSIEC (Punjab Small Industries & Export Corporation). He said the work by the PSIEC is nearing completion.

    Arora said renovation of parks is also being undertaken. He announced that willing industries may adopt parks for maintenance on their cost. He said such industries will be allowed to use these parks for exhibiting their brand name.
