Arora visited SARAS Mela and take keen interest in buying articles

Ludhiana News:  MP (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora along with his wife Sandhya Arora visited heavily crowded prestigious SARAS Mela in the PAU Grounds here on Sunday.

They were accorded warm welcome by the local administrative officers at the main entrance.  Artists dressed up in colorful dresses were seen dancing on beat of drums.

Arora and his wife took keen interest in visiting stalls one after another. Both Arora and his wife even bought many items of their interests and choice, including clothes Kohlapuri jutti, idols of Buddha and Elephants and model of a bicycle. They also visited many stalls of food items including eatables and sweets.

Later, Arora also witnessed a cultural show `Barsana Ki Holi’ staged by artists arrived from outside the state. Among others, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Surabhi Malik along with her family members, former Ludhiana Municipal Commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal and her family members and many other administrative officers of District Administration were present on the occasion. Arora and Surabhi Malik also went on the stage and shower flower petals on the artists performing the role of Lord Krishna and Radha.

Meanwhile, in an informal chat with the media persons, Arora highly appreciated the local administration for organising SARAS Mela. He said he is delighted to see turn out of lakhs of people to the mela site. He added the mela reflects real art and culture of whole of India. He stressed upon the need to organise such melas on regular basis. He called upon people, especially youth, to come and witness the mela in large numbers because there is a lot of things to know and learn about Indian culture at a single platform.

Arora said he has been told that artists from across 23 states are participating and exhibiting their artistic and culinary skills. There are nearly 356 stalls for artisans from different states of the county, who are displaying their skills. This Mela will culminate on November 5. Earlier, SARAS Mela was organised in the year 2012 and and 2017.
