BHAGWANT MANN AND ARVIND KEJRIWAL DEDICATE 13 SCHOOLS OF EMINENCE IN PUNJAB

Ludhiana: Continuing their spree to ensure access of the students to quality education, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday dedicated 13 new Schools of Eminence to the people of the state thereby further achieving a milestone in education revolution in the state.

Interacting with the media persons, the Chief Minister said that the state government is giving wings to dreams of students for soaring high in life by constructing these schools. He said that after Delhi, now Punjab is witnessing a major revolution in the field of education and these schools are a reflection of that. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is a momentous occasion and the day is not far when Punjab will be a front ranking state in the country.

The Chief Minister said that this initiative of the state government will ensure access of students especially from poor and underprivileged sections to the quality education. He said that the day is not far when students from these schools will excel in every field and bring laurels for the state. Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that with this effort the process has begun to transform the destiny of students adding that a paradigm shift is being witnessed in the education sector as students from private schools are now taking admission in government schools.

The Chief Minister said that these schools are just a curtain raiser as more such schools will be opened for the well being of the poor students. He envisioned that these schools will be the modern day temples which will bring a qualitative change in the lives of the students. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that there may be hardly any school in the private sector which will be having facilities of playing grounds, lawn tennis, swimming pool, laboratories and others as available here.

The Chief Minister said that this model had started in Delhi to facilitate the students from weaker and underprivileged sections. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he is thankful to the parents who had shifted their kids from private school to these schools. He said that they are working on the theory of ‘politics of work,’ rather than divisive politics, to serve the state and its people adding that now the students are being imparted training in NEET and JEE to excel in life.

The Chief Minister said that yesterday 165 new Aam Aadmi Clinics were opened in the state and today these schools have been dedicated. He said that the money of people that was plundered earlier is being recovered and is being optimally utilized for the well being of the common man. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the pro-people and development oriented policies of the state will be continued in coming days adding that the pristine glory of Ludhiana as an industrial town will also be restored.

The Chief Minister said that credit of bringing common people at the centre stage of Indian polity goes to Arvind Kejriwal, who has forced the parties to change their agendas as per need of people. He said that instead of Sankalp Pattars or election manifestos, the political parties are now giving guarantees of welfare to the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Delhi Chief Minister had brought a paradigm shift in politics by introducing value based politics by rejecting divisive politics.

In his address, Delhi Chief Minister said that it is heartening to be here amongst the people on this pious occasion to dedicate this school. He said that on first glance of the school no one can even imagine that this is a government school adding that if private schools would have come up on this level then they would have charged huge fees. Arvind Kejriwal said that this school will ensure that the students from weaker and underprivileged sections excel in life and carve a niche for themselves.

The Delhi Chief Minister said that these schools are imbibing confidence amongst the students, who want to go ahead in life. He said that these students are now getting a chance to compete with their private educated peers as the best education was available in these schools. Arvind Kejriwal said that last year one lakh students had applied for admission in Schools of Eminence out of which 8200 students were enrolled.

The Delhi Chief Minister said that none of the earlier CMs had ever bothered to take round of education and health institutes as Bhagwant Singh Mann is doing. Describing education as the key for success and prosperity, he said that these schools will prove to be harbingers of progress and growth of the poor people. Arvind Kejriwal said that Punjab Chief Minister is custodian of the interests of the people of the state and the need of hour is to strengthen his hands so that he can vehemently combat the centre for its regressive and anti-Punjab stance.

The Delhi Chief Minister assailed the Union government for stalling funds worth around Rs 8000 crore of the state adding that these funds could have been used duly for development of the state. He said that in the last two years unprecedented work has been done in the state to give a push to development of the state adding that the hands of Bhagwant Singh Mann must be strengthened by giving all the 13 seats of Lok Sabha in the favor of the Aam Aadmi party. Arvind Kejriwal said that it will give new vigor to the Punjab Chief Minister to fight against the discriminatory policies of the Union government.

Pertinently, Both the Chief Ministers dedicated the 13 schools in Ludhiana, Adampur (Jalandhar), in Mall Mandi, Mall Road and Jandiala Guru at Amritsar, in Parasram Nagar and Ram Nagar at Bathinda, in Amloh at Fatehgarh Sahib, in Jalalabad West and Arniwala Sheikh Suban at Fazilka, in Phagwara at Kapurthala, in Phase 11 at SAS Nagar (Mohali) and in Khadoor Sahib at Tarn Taran. They also took a round of the newly constructed building of the school here at Indrapuri and had detailed deliberations with the students and their parents.
