Canada to deport Sikh family on June 13

Ontario: A three-member Sikh family from Canada’s British Columbia province will be deported to India on June 13. According to sources, if the Canadian government gives a stay to the family, then the return can be postponed for some time.
Hardeep Singh Chahal, his pregnant wife Kamaldeep Kaur and three-year-old daughter, who live in Penticton, were ordered to be deported last month.
The couple were granted a 10-year visitor visa and later a work visa by the Canadian government, after which they applied for refugee status.
His claim and the subsequent two appeals were rejected in 2021 and 2022 as he could not produce proper documents to prove his claim.
The couple fear that they will not be able to re-enter Canada once they return to the country.
