Chandigarh declared ‘No Flying Zone’ from May 7 to 8 due to movement of VVIPs

Chandigarh: On May 8, there is a movement of VVIPs in UT Chandigarh. Chandigarh has been declared a no-flying zone in view of emerging threats due to the recent trend of anti-national elements carrying out terror attacks using drones equipped with modern explosive devices and keeping in mind the safety of VVIPs and general public.

District Magistrate IAS Vinay Pratap Singh has declared the entire Union Territory of Chandigarh as a “No Flying Zone” from May 7 to May 8. However, the order will not apply to law enforcement agencies including police, paramilitary, Air Force and SPG personnel. The order will be effective from Zero Hour on May 7 to Zero Hour on May 9.
