Chandigarh DGP, his wife injured at wedding ceremony as tent falls due to gusty winds

Punjabenews: Chandigarh DGP Praveer Ranjan, his wife and another police officer were injured when a tent collapsed and an iron pole fall on them during a wedding ceremony at lake club on Sunday night.

Praveer Ranjan and his wife Malvika Ranjan attended the wedding of sector-3 police station in-charge Sukhdeep Singh’s daughter.
According to the information, an iron pole fell from the tent due to strong wind and the DGP, his wife and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gurmukh Singh were injured.
All three suffered head and shoulder injuries. DSP Gurmukh Singh also suffered back injuries, sources said.
The three were taken to the Government Multi Speciality Hospital (GMSH) Sector 16, and later referred to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Trauma. The DGP reportedly received 12 stitches on his head and his wife four. Both were discharged after treatment.
