Chandigarh gets shuttle bus service for Sukhna Lake, Bird Park and Rock Garden

Chandigarh News: The Chandigarh administration has issued an advisory for visiting three major tourist spots in the city – Rock Garden, Bird Park, and Sukhna Lake – exclusively on Saturdays and public holidays. In response to the growing traffic congestion, the administration initiated the CTU shuttle bus service to these tourist spots on those days. Starting November 18, this service will operate from 11 am to 8 pm on Saturdays and public holidays. A strict advisory has been issued for tourists visiting these spots.
Additionally, except for a few selected vehicles, the entry of general public vehicles leading to Sukhna Lake on Saturdays has been prohibited. The administration notes that a considerable influx of tourists, including visitors from other states, frequents these places over the weekends. The heavy traffic around Rock Garden, Bird Park, and Sukhna Lake causes persistent jams along North Road and Science Marg, affecting the surrounding sectors.
To mitigate these issues, a map has been released guiding visitors to these spots, aiming to prevent traffic congestion. Tourists arriving in private vehicles have been informed about two parking lots near Sukhna Lake and Rock Garden. If both lots are full, overflow parking will be available near the High Court and government offices in Sector-9A. This arrangement ensures space for the shuttle bus service to operate smoothly.
