Chandigarh PGI fire case: 14-member committee set up to probe the incident 

Chandigarh News: A 14-member committee has been formed to investigate the fire in PGI Chandigarh. This committee will also give its suggestions on measures to prevent any such accident in the future. A total of 424 patients have been rescued during the fire.
       Of these, 351 are adult patients. 34 patients have been evacuated from the ICU and 80 pregnant women from the female ward. Apart from this, 56 small children and 17 children from different departments are among the patients evacuated during the fire.
        There was a sudden fire in Nehru Block around 12 midnight on Monday. The fire started from the UPS of the ground floor. After which smoke spread throughout the block. Due to this, patients admitted in 5 floors started having trouble breathing. This caused chaos in the premises.
