Child Protection Commission to take action over Diljit Dosanjh’s Chandigarh concert

Chandigarh: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh’s recent “Dil Luminati Tour” concert in Chandigarh has drawn the attention of the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights.

Despite the show’s success on December 14, controversy has emerged over allegations that Dosanjh violated an advisory prohibiting songs promoting alcohol and weapons.

Shipra Bansal, chairperson of the commission, announced plans to send a notice to the concert organizers for failing to comply with the advisory. Bansal stated that the singer performed songs like “Panj Tara” and “Patiala Peg,” which glorify alcohol, disregarding guidelines issued prior to the event.

“Protecting children’s rights is our primary responsibility,” Bansal said, adding that the commission would seek an explanation from the organizers about the violation.

Further action will be determined based on the response to the notice.
