Clash between nihangs and police in Amritsar, 20 booked

Amritsar: A clash broke out between nihangs and police in Amritsar, Punjab, late last night. When additional police force reached the spot, Nihang fled in the vehicles. Police have identified Tejbir Singh, a resident of Nihang Pandori Vadach, and registered a case against about 20 unidentified youths. Nihang got involved with the police over the challan in Batala.
    DCP Parminder Singh Bhandal said that the incident took place on Sultanwind Road. The checking was being done by the police at night. Then the accused Tejbir Singh reached there in Nihang Bane. About two dozen Nihangs were also with them in 3-4 vehicles.
    As soon as the police stopped, the accused and other nihangs started quarreling with the police. 
   Meanwhile, the police called the backup team there. As soon as the police teams arrived, the accused Nihang fled from there in vehicles, but the police have registered a case against the accused and started action.
