Cong workers deserting party to join SAD because Ch Santokh family has failed to deliver: Bikram Singh Majithia

Jalandhar: Former minister and senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia today said the very fact that a large number of Congress leaders and workers were leaving the party to join the SAD and pledge support to SAD-BSP joint candidate Dr Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi proved that the Choudhary family had failed to deliver anything during its nearly thirty year dominance in this constituency.

Addressing a public meeting in Kartarpur where Congress workers joined the SAD enmass, Mr Bikram Majithia said “people want to support a party and leader who have a proven track record of performance.

The Choudhary family of Ch Santokh Singh has failed to do anything during the last nine years. In direct contrast people are aware of the manner in which former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal helped the farmers and weaker sections by ensuring free power for tube wells besides implementing social welfare schemes like ‘aata-daal’, old age pension, shagun and cycles for girl students besides others”.

Asking the people to compare the candidates in the fray, Mr Majithia said “Dr Sukhi has a proven track record in the Vidhan Sabha where he has taken up peoples’ issues successfully. He is also known as a social worker and renowned doctor who has been serving the people selflessly since decades”. He said in direct contrast both the AAP and BJP candidates were turncoats and could not be trusted.
