Dallewal urges government to accept demands as fast enters 20th day

Chandigarh: Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s hunger strike continued for the 20th consecutive day, with tensions escalating at the Khanauri border.

Addressing the crowd, Dallewal declared, “If the government is so concerned about my life, then immediately accept the demands,” before leaving the stage.

The gathering witnessed emotional moments as Dallewal appeared with his young grandson, whose presence stirred deep sentiments among supporters. Slogans of ” Jo Bole So Nihal” echoed from the stage as farmer leaders rallied together.

In light of Dallewal’s deteriorating health, Punjab government officials, including DGP Gaurav Yadav, DIG Mandeep Sidhu, and SSP Nanak Singh, met with the farmer leader.

Despite their appeals to end the fast and seek medical attention, Dallewal refused government-provided treatment.

Officials expressed grave concern over his condition, noting a further drop in blood pressure on the previous day. They reiterated the urgency of hospitalization, but Dallewal remained firm, intensifying calls for government action on the farmers’ demands.
