Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to visit Chandigarh today, roads diverted
Chandigarh: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be in Chandigarh on Saturday. At 4 pm, he will address a public meeting at the exhibition ground in Sector-34. All its preparations have been completed.
On Friday, a day before the event, the Chandigarh Police took stock of the security arrangements and conducted a practice on the designated route. A special checking drive was carried out in and around the venue in Sector 34.
Traffic had to be stopped due to police exercises and security preparations on the route fixed for the Defense Minister’s program. Due to this, common people had to face some problems. There is also a ban on flying drones in the city on Saturday and Sunday due to the no-flying zone in the city.
On June 24, traffic will be diverted/restricted on some roads near Sector 34 Mela Ground, besides Kali Bari Light Point, Sector 31/32-46/47 Chowk, Sector 32/33/33-45/46 Chowk and Shanti Path at 33/34-44/45 Chowk and 33/34 Light Point on Sarovar Path from Sector 33/34-44/45 Chowk.
