ECI appoints AEROs for all 9 assembly segments in Jalandhar

DEO instruct them to encourage youth for maximum participation in electoral process

Jalandhar News: ECI has appointed Assistant electoral registration officers (AEROs) for all 9 assembly segments in Jalandhar district .

    District electoral officer cum Deputy commissioner Mr Vishesh sarangal said that with an aim to encourage the youth for their registration as voters besides ensuring their larger participation in democratic process , Assistant electoral registration officers (AEROs) would work in unison with other stake holders especially the educational institutions.

    It includes Principal Govt. Sr.Secondary School, (Boys), Phillaur, Principal Guru Nanak NatioanI College (Boys), Nakodar, Executive Officer, Nagar Panchayat Shahkot,
Principal Govt. Sr. Secondary School, Pachranga,
Principal Govt. Sr. Secondary School, Wadala,
Principal Prem Chand Markanda SD College (Girls), Jalandhar, Principal Sai Dass Sen. Sec. School, Patel Chowk Jalandhar,
Principal Banarsi Dass Arya College, Jalandhar Cantt and
Principal Govt. Sr. Secondary School, Masania.

    AEROs have been dedicated to each assembly constituency to make efforts for registration of prospective electors at educational institutions.

    Besides that AEROs will also hold regular meetings with Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of educational institutions falling under the jurisdiction of his/her assembly constituency and make them aware
about process for enrolment and timelines to file application for registration.

    They will also organise Special camps during revision activities in the educational institutions, create awareness about the elector’s registration process and also encourage them to file
the advance claims for registration as electors through online portals like NVSP/VHA/VP etc.
