Election of President NRI Sabha Punjab will be held on January 05, 2024; Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal

Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has given approval to elect the President of NRI Sabha Punjab. This election will be held on January 05, 2024.

      Giving this information, Punjab NRI Affairs Minister S. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that as per the guidelines of NRI Sabha, Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Maan has decided to hold the election of the President of NRI Sabha Punjab on January 05, 2024.

        The cabinet minister said that Punjab’s NRI Sabha works as an agency of the state government for the welfare of the Indian diaspora of the state. He said that the term of the president of this sabha has ended on March, 2022. He said that most of the diaspora Punjabis usually come to India in the month of December and they stay here till March. He said that this is the right time to hold elections.

       Min Dhaliwal said that the NRI Sabha works under the patronage of the Government of Punjab and the main objective of the Sabha is to work for the welfare and interests of the NRIs of Punjab. He said that the main objective of NRI Sabha Punjab is to redress the grievances of migrant Punjabis, protect their rights and properties.

          It is pertinent mention here that NRI Sabha Punjab is a society registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 with the approval of the Government of Punjab and the Chief Minister of Punjab is the Chief Patron of this Sabha. He said that the Commissioner Jalandhar Division is the Chairman of the Sabha while all the Deputy Commissioners are the chairman of the district units of the council of the NRI Sabha.
