Jalandhar News: Convincing farmers to suspend their protest, the Jalandhar ADC Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa said that all the genuine demands of the protesting farmers including seeking compensation for damaged crop will be fulfilled and their meeting with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will be held tomorrow in this regard.
Meanwhile, on the call of the Samyuktkisan Morcha, the Jalandhar-Phagwara highway was completely blocked for an indefinite period by the farmer organizations against the Punjab government. Due to this, traffic between Jalandhar and Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Nawanshahr has come to a standstill, due to which the drivers are facing a lot of trouble. The leaders said that the Punjab government has discriminated against the farmers by not increasing the price of sugarcane.
