Farmers postpone march to Delhi, leader Sarwan Singh Pandher confirms
Chandigarh: Farmers will not march to Delhi on December 10, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher announced today. Pandher, who is leading the morcha at the Shambhu border, stated that the decision follows a meeting held earlier with Haryana officials, during which the authorities requested additional time.
Pandher explained that after the discussions, it was decided to delay the march and convene another meeting with farmer leaders to finalize the next course of action. As a result, no farmer jatha was sent to Delhi today, and the march remains postponed for tomorrow as well.
Criticizing the Central government, Pandher accused it of being “confused.”
He said that conflicting statements from government ministers, with one suggesting that farmers are allowed to march while another claims otherwise. He urged the ministers to clarify their stance.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Haryana today. Pandher called on him to address the farmers’ concerns during his visit.
