Farmers to gherao MPs’ residences tomorrow as agitation completes 300 days

Chandigarh: Farmers across the country, excluding Punjab, will gherao the residences of Members of Parliament (MPs) tomorrow, announced farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal during a press conference at the Khanauri border.

The protest, marking 300 days of the farmers’ agitation, will include a 12-hour hunger strike from 8 am to 8 pm.

Dallewal condemned the recent use of tear gas shells on farmers at the Shambhu border, describing it as an attempt by the government to suppress dissent and silence the “fourth pillar of the Constitution.”

He said that farmers from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka are prepared to participate in the nationwide demonstration.

However, no protests will be held outside MPs’ residences in Punjab, as all farmer organizations in the state have been assigned to strengthen the ongoing morcha.
