The Punjab Police is preparing to display them at the appropriate place. Hopefully, this work will be completed soon. The documents with the fingerprints of Shaheed Udham Singh date back to 1927. When he was arrested as the leader of the Ghadar Party. At the same time, his fingerprints were taken.
Old documents, weapons and other case files are kept at the Police Academy in Phillaur. Among them, a document with Udham Singh’s fingerprints has been found.
Udham Singh was arrested in 1927
When Udham Singh was arrested by the then Punjab police in 1927, he had a pistol and a copy of the Ghadar Party newspaper ‘Gadar Di Goonj’. At that time, Udham Singh was sentenced to five years by the court.
At the same time, the fingerprints of Shaheed Udham Singh were taken. The document with Udham Singh’s fingerprints has the name Sher Singh written in it. Father’s name was Tehal Singh, officials said.
