Fire Incident at Sushma Joynest: DC Aashika Jain Takes Serious Notice, Seeks Report from Fire Officer Zirakpur

SAS Nagar: Taking a serious note  of the fire Incident occurred at Sushma Joynest Apartments at  Zirakpur, the deputy commissioner, Aashika Jain has sought a detailed report of the cause of the fire.

Divulging  details, the deputy commissioner said that the fire Incident occurred at the seventh floor of the apartment, must be taken as a warning. She emphasised that fire safety should be the topmost priority of the Residents Welfare Associations/developers.
She said that on greeting a report of the incident, the SDM Derabassi Himanshu Gupta immediately directed to send a team of officers to check the cause of the fire oncident. A joint team of Naib Tehsildar Zirakpur Jaskaran Singh, MC Fire Officer Jaswant Singh along with the representative of the maintenance agency, Bhupinder Singh visited the flat today. The Officers’ team examined the fire fighting arrangements there.  A thorough report for the cause of the fire incident has been sought from the MC Fire officer by tomorrow, she added. She said that a person who got minor burn injuries in the incident is treated immediately and now returned home and is stable.
The deputy commissioner reiterated that in view of the mushrooming of a number of Apartments culture in the district, it is worrisome to have such an incident that too on the 7th floor. She said that the safety and security of the residents of the apartment is a  must and detailed instructions would be passed on to the residents welfare associations/developers to ensure adequate fire safety measures to overcome such fire incidents by hiring experienced staff too. after getting the report tomorrow to ensure no such incident happens in future. Besides, the fire department has been asked to spruce up their fire fighting arrangements to fight such an incident of fire at such a high floor and MC officials have been instructed to pay regular inspections to avoid such incidents in future as the life and property of the people is our foremost priority.
