Former Bassi Pathana MLA Gurpreet GP joins AAP

Chandigarh: In a jolt to the Congress, its former MLA Gurpreet Singh GP today joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

GP was elected MLA from Bassi Pathana assembly constituency in Fatehgarh Sahib district in 2017. He had contested the 2022 assembly elections from the same constituency.

Cabinet minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer welcomed the GP into the party fold and said his induction would give a boost to AAP in Fatehgarh Sahib. The GP said the main reason for quitting the Congress was the lack of discipline in the party. He has been very impressed with the chief minister’s work.
