Former Punjab Congress minister arrested: ED nabbed in forest scam

Jalandhar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday arrested former Punjab Congress minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot.

Dharamsot was summoned by the ED’s Jalandhar unit for questioning in connection with the forest scam and disproportionate assets case. Where not satisfied with the answer, the ED took this action. Late in the evening, he was brought to the civil hospital for medical treatment.

In November 2023 itself, apart from Dharamsot, the ED raided the house of Sangat Singh Gilzian, some contractors of the forest department and their close associates.

The ED is likely to take action against Harmohinder Singh, a close aide of Dharamsot and a contractor of the forest department, a close aide of Khanna and some officials.
