Former Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University, Chandigarh, SS Gill passes away
Chandigarh News: Former Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University SS Gill passed away at PGI here today after a prolonged illness. He was 77 years old.
He was the head of the department of orthopaedics at PGI Chandigarh before taking over as VC. He belonged to village Dangarh in Barnala district. He was the elder brother of Brigadier BS Shergill, who was killed in a landmine blast in Kupwara district in August 2000. He was the son of Deputy Commissioner Fatehgarh Sahib Preneet Shergill.
His last rites will be performed today on October 12 at 2 pm at Sector-25, Chandigarh.
