Haryana Kisan Mahapanchayat seals Punjab border with cement barricading

New Delhi: Farmers’ organizations have called a farmer-labor mahapanchayat in Jind, Haryana today. Mahapanchayat is being held in the new grain market in addition to Uchana.

Samyukta Kisan Morcha non-political leader Abhimanyu Kohar is presiding over the mahapanchayat. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal has arrived from Punjab. Police force has been deployed in the grain market.

Earlier on Saturday-Sunday night, the police have completely closed the Punjab-Haryana border at 2 places by putting cement barricades near Guhla Cheeka and Sangatpura in Kaithal.

Abhimanyu Kohar has claimed that we do not need to take permission for the panchayat. The model code of conduct does not apply to farmers, this rule is only for politicians. How to teach BJP a lesson is the agenda of today’s panchayat.

Uchana police station SHO Pawan Kumar said that permission has not been taken from the farmers regarding the Mahapanchayat, so the border has been closed on the orders of the officials in Chika.
