HC orders Punjab govt to deposit Rs 5 crore

The High Court has directed the Punjab government to deposit Rs 5 crore within a week for staging a protest in front of the factory of Malbros International Company located in Ferozepur. 

The company had filed a petition in the high court. The company says that for the last three months, a sit-in has been held in front of their company and the Punjab government has not been able to lift this dharna, due to which they are losing crores of rupees.

The company also contended that there was no violation of any rules by them and that they had an environment clearance certificate and all other documents, but despite this, their company has been staging a sit-in in front of them. 

The high court said it appeared that the Punjab government was not taking the issue seriously and despite repeated assurances, no effort was being made by the Punjab government.
