Jalandhar Lok Sabha By-poll: LoP Partap Singh Bajwa, MLA Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary and Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary call on Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge

Punjab E News: A day after the Indian National Congress announced her name for the forthcoming Jalandhar Lok Sabha by poll, the candidate Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary, along with Leader of Opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha Partap Singh Bajwa and MLA Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary, called on the party president Mallikarjun Kharge to express their gratitude and seek his blessings. They were accompanied by Congress Lok Sabha Chief Whip Kodikunnil Suresh and Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla.

  Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary and Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary thanked Mallikarjun Kharge for reposing trust in them and declaring the former’s candidature for the Jalandhar by poll.

  Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary said, “I feel humbled and honoured that the party considered me worthy to represent the same Parliamentary constituency that was so ably represented and served by my husband and veteran Congress leader, Late Chaudhary Santokh Singh Ji. I assure the party leadership and the cadre that I would not only uphold the supreme ideals of the Congress party but also continue to build the edifice of development, harmony and growth on the firm foundation laid by my husband.”

  MLA Vikramjit Chaudhary said the family was grateful to the party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi for their support. “We would work hard to ensure a thumping victory of the Congress party in the by poll,” he added.

  LoP Partap Singh Bajwa said that, for the Congress party, a landslide win would be a befitting tribute to Chaudhary Santokh Singh, who kept the flag of the party flying high even till his last breath.
