Jewellery worth Rs 35 lakh stolen from judge’s house in Tarn Taran
Chandigarh: Thieves targeted the house of a woman judge just 400 meters away from the police post in Fatehabad town of Tarn Taran and stole ornaments worth about Rs 35 lakh.
The incident was captured by the house’s CCTV camera, but the police are still empty-handed. A case has been registered, and a search for the thieves is underway.
Dr. Rahul Singh Josan, who lives in Sardara Mohalla of Fatehabad, Tarn Taran, reported that his wife, Preneet Kaur, is a judge and his father is a doctor. His father, Dr. Balbir Singh, had gone to the clinic. Around 12 noon, two thieves entered the house by scaling the main gate, while one accomplice waited outside on a bike.
The thieves broke into the house, reached the locker room, stole all the jewelry from the cupboard, and escaped. Upon discovering the incident, Dr. Josan informed the police. The police are investigating the case.
Lakhwinder Singh, in charge of the concerned police post, said that a case has been registered in connection with the incident, CCTV footage has been received, and the thieves will be arrested soon.
