Local Government Minister Balkar Singh launches WhatsApp number for complaints against unauthorized colonies and constructions in Punjab

Chandigarh: In an effort to address the issue of unauthorized constructions within the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils, and Improvement Trusts in Punjab, Minister for Local Government and Parliamentary Affairs, Balkar Singh, has today issued a WhatsApp number 7889149943 for the convenience of the people at Municipal Bhawan, Sector-35, Chandigarh.

Local Government and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Balkar Singh highlighted that with rapid urbanization and population growth, the threat of unauthorized colonies and illegal constructions has become a concern. To effectively address this issue, Minister Balkar Singh has taken the initiative to provide an accessible and convenient platform for citizens to complain about such violations.

He mentioned that the WhatsApp number, 7889149943, is now functional, and residents can use it to lodge complaints about unauthorized constructions and colonies. All complaints will be promptly reviewed and acted upon by the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Minister Balkar Singh urged all citizens to come forward and participate in this campaign against unauthorized constructions, as it will significantly contribute to maintaining the planned and sustainable development of the cities and towns of Punjab.

On this occasion, Local Government Department Secretary Mr. Ajoy Sharma, Director Mr. Uma Shankar Gupta, Chief Vigilance Officer Mr. Rajeev Sakheri, Chief Engineer Mr. Ashwani Chaudhary, Mr. Mukesh Garg, and Senior Town Planner Mr. Gautam Kumar were present.
