Man shot dead at crematorium in Patiala

Chandigarh: A 45-year-old man, Navneet Singh, was shot dead at a crematorium near Gallori Gate on Wednesday morning, police said.

Navneet had gone to the crematorium with relatives to collect flowers after cremation of his uncle. While there, two unidentified assailants approached and shot him in the head at close range, killing him on the spot. The attackers fled immediately after the incident.

SP City Sarfaraz Alam said the murder appeared to be linked to a property dispute. The deceased, Navneet Singh, was the adopted son of his parents.
