Meet Hayer hands over appointment letters to 27 Ziladars of Water Resources Department

Asks them to perform their services honestly

Chandigarh News: Punjab Water Resources Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Heyer on Monday handed over the appointment letters to the newly inducted 27 Ziladars in the department and asked them to perform their services with honesty and dedication.

      Handing over the appointment letter during a simple function-cum-meeting held here at Punjab Bhavan, the Water Resources Minister said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government has undertaken sincere efforts to bring revolutionary changes in the interests of the state and especially the general public. He said that it was only because of these efforts that after decades the water resources department has succeeded in delivering water at the tail ends this year.

      Describing the Ziladars and Patwaris as an important link between the government and the farmers, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that the newly inducted Ziladars deserves congratulation as they are getting the opportunity to perform this service. He said that many new challenges have also arisen as the department has succeeded in delivering water to the tail ends for the first time. He said that Ziladars can play an important role in meeting these challenges by performing their services in a professional manner.

      On this occasion, the Water Resources Minister also gave a clear instruction to the newly inducted Ziladars that none of them should make any recommendation for transfer, and work diligently at the allotted stations. He said that if you don’t start learning from the day one, you would fail to learn in your lifetime. He said that the 16-month training schedule has been reduced to 4 months for newly inducted Ziladars on the condition that they would not request for transfer during their probation period.

       Prominent amongst others, Principal Secretary Water Resources Department Krishan Kumar, Managing Director PWRMDC Pawan Kapoor and Chief Engineer (Headquarter) Rakesh Kumar Krail were also present on this occasion.
