Money laundering case: Court sends Dharamsot to three-day police remand

Chandigarh: Former Punjab forest minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case, was today sent to three-day police remand by a special court in Mohali.

The ED special team brought Dharamsot from Jalandhar to the Mohali court and presented him in the court through the basement after giving a glimpse to the media and returned with the remand in just 15 minutes.

Sadhu Singh Dharamsot was arrested by the Vigilance Bureau in an alleged corruption case related to felling of trees from forest department land. On November 30 last year, the ED took over the case.

Dharamsot appeared before the ED for the second time on Monday and was arrested by the ED for failing to give a satisfactory reply in the money laundering and disproportionate assets case during questioning.
