Earlier, amid news of this train not being given stoppage in Jalandhar, there was a lot of disappointment among the people of the district.

It is noteworthy that on December 20, MP Sushil Kumar Rinku had met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on this important issue, wherein he had placed the demand of giving a stoppage to this train in Jalandhar which is the major industrial city of Punjab and the NRI hub. According to the new schedule, this train will depart from Jalandhar at 9:26 am and reach Delhi at 1:50 pm, similarly, it will depart from Delhi at 3:15 pm and reach Jalandhar at 7:26 pm. This train will run 6 days a week.

MP Rinku had told the Railway Minister that Jalandhar is a major industrial city of the state and is also an NRI hub. The stoppage of this train at Jalandhar will greatly benefit the entrepreneurs, businessmen and NRIs who will get a chance to travel in this high speed train between Jalandhar and New Delhi. This will not only benefit the Railways but will also save precious time of the people.

Rinku has also demanded to give stoppage to the already running New Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express at Jalandhar. He has said that by giving stoppage to this train in Jalandhar, the passengers going from Jalandhar to Mata Vaishno Devi and Jammu will be greatly benefited, who will be able to reach there in almost half the time.

MP Rinku told the Railway Minister that Jalandhar is a major station of Punjab. Thousands of passengers come to this station every day. The biggest beneficiaries of Vande Bharat will be traders and businessmen for whom time is very precious
