NHAI opens five tunnels, now reach Chandigarh to Manali in six hours

Chandigarh: The journey from Chandigarh to Manali is going to be pleasant soon. The construction work of tunnels on the under-construction four-lane on the way from Kiratpur to Manali is going on on a war footing.
Meanwhile, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has opened five tunnels for trial. These have reduced the time taken between Chandigarh and Manali by four hours. Earlier it used to take about 10 hours to cover this distance.
It is being told that after the completion of the construction work of the tunnels, the success of Citybeautiful to Manali will be completed in just six hours. At the same time, it will take 14 hours to reach Manali from Delhi.
The four-lane beyond Swarghat has been opened for vehicles going from Chandigarh to Manali, but since the tunnel at Kiratpur is still in time, tourists can use two alternative routes to reach the four-lane.
The first route is just two kilometers ahead of Swarghat via Juripatan-Jagatkhana. The second alternative route is a little further through Panjpiri to ferry vehicles into the four-lane. This option is only till the opening of the Kiratpur tunnel.
