Punjab E News: The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is encouraging the use of less polluting firecrackers. Environment Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that the government will allow the use of green crackers only for a very short period on Diwali, Gurpurab, Christmas and New Year.
He said that in compliance with various guidelines of the
Supreme Court, National Green Tribunal (NGT), Punjab and Haryana High Court and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the State Government is encouraging the use of less polluting firecrackers.
