Patiala BJP Led By Jai Inder Kaur Slams The Latest Voter Lists Of Patiala Corporation Elections

Patiala News: The leaders of Patiala’s Bharatiya Janata Party led by State Mahila Morcha President Jai Inder Kaur today met Patiala DC Sakshi Sawhney and registered a protest against gross errors in the voter lists of Patiala Municipal Corporation elections.

Addressing the media after meeting the DC, Jai Inder Kaur said, “The new voter list drawn for Patiala Municipal Corporation elections is completely wrong and there are many gross errors in it. For example, the name of the area is not written in any voter list. By unnecessarily crossing the road to every ward, various remote areas have been included in the voter list which is completely wrong legally.”

She further said, “When there is no increase in wards, the reduction and expansion of areas and tampering in voter lists is completely illegal. For municipal elections, votes are always conducted door to door. This time, all laws are being defied as the Voter lists have been prepared by tearing the papers from assembly lists which is completely illegal.”

Talking about the loss of these voter lists, the BJP president further said, “If elections are held in the city on these voter lists, neither the candidates of any party will be able to find their voters nor the voters will find their candidates and BJP strongly condemns it.”

Jai Inder Kaur further demanded, “Keeping the interests of the public at the fore, we demand to conduct a door-to-door survey of these voter lists again, because according to these 60 voter lists, in some wards only 2200 to 2500 votes are there and the number of votes in other wards has gone up to 9000-10000 and even 12000 which is completely wrong and undemocratic.”

Jai Inder Kaur was accompanied by BJP Patiala district president K.K. Malhotra, Former Mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu, KK Sharma, Hardev Singh Balli, Sonu Sangar, Ginni Nagpal, Sandeep Malhotra, Atul Joshi, Rajini Sharma, Promila Mehta, Shammi Kumar, Nikhil Kumar Kaka, Karan Gaur, Sandeep Sharma, Gopi Rangela, RK Sindhi, Sikandar Chauhan, Gurbhajan Singh, Saurabh Sharma, Indrani Shukla, Sanjay Sharma etc among others.
