Police used Amritpal Singh’s case as an excuse to reduce gatherings at Sidhu Moosewala’s death anniversary celebrations: Balkaur Singh
Mansa: On the occasion of the first death anniversary of the late Punjabi singer, his father Balkaur Singh Sidhu has warned the Mansa police from the stage that if the police do not stop stopping the fans at the checkpoints set up in the areas near Mansa, he himself will sit on a dharna with the people for an indefinite period. He alleged that the police had diverted routes 50-50 km away to reduce the gathering at the anniversary celebrations in a timely manner.
Balkaur Singh Sidhu said that he had already warned that the police would deliberately influence the anniversary celebrations and now a new excuse has been found in the case of Amritpal Singh.
During his address, he said that the people were coming peacefully on the anniversary celebrations, but the Mansa police was turning the people away by setting up nakas in Lalianwali, Joga, Bhikhi. He questioned the administration and said that if anyone from the sangat does wrong, it should be applied to him.
