Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered abortion of a rape victim. The court has described the pain caused by pregnancy as a serious injury to mental health.
In his detailed order, Justice said that while dealing with the issue of termination of pregnancy of an unmarried woman, a three-judge bench of the Supreme Court came to the conclusion that the provisions need not be given a narrow interpretation.
