Punjab Assembly debates budget: Congress asks CM Bhagwant Mann to apologise

Chandigarh: Today marks the fourth day of the budget session of the Punjab Assembly. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema presented a budget of over Rs 2 lakh on Tuesday.

This session is anticipated to be tumultuous. Opposition parties will endeavor to confront the government on various issues. However, this time, CM Bhagwant Mann and other ministers are also in an assertive stance.

Concurrently, the Finance Minister has already asserted that he will address every question from the opposition regarding the budget. Today’s session will commence with a question and answer segment, followed by the Calling Attention process. Subsequently, concerns regarding the breach of banks in the newly constructed Kandi canal flowing between Talwara and Balachaur will be raised.

Following this, the report of the Accounts Committee will be presented, including the CAG report for the year 2015-16 on agriculture and farmer welfare.

Additionally, reports from various departments are slated for presentation during this period, encompassing the annual reports of the Panchayat Department, Punjab State Forest Department, State Information Commission, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority, and Punjab Agro.
