Patiala News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday paid floral tributes to father of nation Mahatma Gandhi ji and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shahstri ji on their birth anniversaries.
Paying glowing tributes to Mahatma Gandhi ji, Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that the life, philosophy and sacrifice of the father of nation will ever act as a lighthouse and continue to inspire us all for rendering selfless service to the community, society, state and the country. They exhorted the people to follow the philosophy of peace and non-violence as propounded by Mahatma Gandhi ji to carve out an egalitarian society. They said that Mahatma Gandhi ji transformed the Indian freedom struggle into a mass movement which ultimately led to emancipation of the country from clutches of British imperialism.
The Punjab Chief Minister and Delhi Chief Minister said Mahatma Gandhi ji was possibly the only global leader who won the battle of freedom through his ideology of non-violence. They said that Gandhi ji was a great statesman and an iconic personality who widely travelled across the world to propagate his philosophy of love, peace and non-violence. They said that people across the globe are admirers and followers of Mahatma Gandhi ji’s ideology.
Paying tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri ji, the Punjab Chief Minister and Delhi Chief Minister described him as a great luminary of Indian politics who acted as a catalyst to make India self-reliant in food production. They said that the philosophy of ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ as propounded by Lal Bahadur Shastri ji continues to guide us and help promote India as a self-sufficient and secure nation. Exhorting the people to imbibe the values of self-discipline, dedication and hard work promoted by the former Prime Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal said that Lal Bahadur Shastri ji was an epitome of honesty, morality and, above all, simplicity adding that a real tribute to him will be to work zealously to ensure overall development and prosperity of our country.
