Punjab Congress Election Committee formed, both Warring, Sidhu included
Chandigarh: The Congress announced its election committee for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Punjab on Wednesday. Congress president Raja Warring has been appointed as the chairman of the committee, while Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is deviating from the party line, has also been included. Working President Bharat Bhushan Ashu, along with MPs Manish Tewari and Ravneet Singh Bittu, are among the 27 leaders.
Several prominent leaders and former MPs, including four MPs, have been omitted from the committee. According to Congress leaders, they will be accommodated in other committees. The committee’s approval has been granted by the party’s national president, Mallikarjun Kharge.
Notably, three leaders from the Amritsar parliamentary constituency are part of the committee, while Congress MP Gurjit Aujla did not get any place.
Similarly, two leaders have been allocated positions in the Khadoor Sahib parliamentary seat, but MP Jasbir Dimpa is conspicuously absent from the committee. Faridkot MP Mohammad Sadiq and Fatehgarh MP Amar Singh are also not included in the committee.
