Punjab schools to change timings: Order to come into effect from November 1 

Chandigarh: In response to the increasing cold in Punjab, the Punjab government has announced revised school timings effective from November 1.

The new schedule applies to all government, private, aided, and recognized schools across the state, with schools starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m.

This orders issued by the Education Department and will apply to over 19,000 schools throughout Punjab.

School timings in Punjab typically change three times per academic session. From April 1 to September 30, schools operate from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Between October 1 and October 31, primary schools run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., while middle to senior secondary schools follow an 8:30 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. schedule.

From November 1 to February 28, the timings for primary schools will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with middle to senior secondary schools running from 9 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
