Region’s most expensive toll plaza Ladowal closed by farmers

Chandigarh: Farmers have made the Ladowal toll plaza in Phillaur between Ludhiana-Jalandhar on the Delhi-Jammu National Highway free of cost.

The farmers removed the staff and vacated the toll booths. After this, they have laid a carpet in the vacant lane and staged a sit-in.

Farmers say that until the toll rates are reduced, they will keep the toll free for an indefinite period. During this time, vehicles are passing through the toll without paying tax.
