Rs 2 lakh fine imposed on illegal miners: Minister Bains

www.punjabenews.com: Mining and Geology Minister Harjot Singh Bains inaugurated the first government sale centre of sand and gravel with a capacity of 2 lakh metric tonnes at Eco City-II, New Chandigarh. The price of sand and gravel has been kept at Rs 28 per cubic feet.

The minister said the initiative would go a long way in curbing the sand mafia. He added that ever since the government has taken over the mining work. The minister says that a fine of Rs 2 lakh has been imposed on those involved in illegal mining.
