Rs. 40 crore releases for upkeep and maintenance of schools: Harjot Singh Bains

Chandigarh: The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has released Rs. 40 crore on Friday for upkeep and maintenance of school buildings as part of the efforts being made to revolutionize entire education system.

Disclosing this, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the strenuous efforts are being made to ramp up the infrastructure of government schools and the strenuous efforts are being made in this direction from a very first day after formation of the government.

The Education Minister informed that money was being demanded for construction of floors and roofs besides electricity, furniture repair and paint of many school buildings.
Mr. Bains said that Rs. 4.21 crore have been given for 276 schools of Amritsar district. Apart from this, Rs. 1.40 crore for 53 schools of Barnala district, 1.85 crore rupees for 109 schools of Bathinda district, 1.14 crore rupees for 58 schools of Faridkot district, Rs.0.80 crore for 85 schools of district Fatehgarh Sahib, Rs.5.17 crore for 271 schools of district Fazilka, Rs.1.8 crore for 126 schools of district Ferozepur, Rs. 3.14 crore for 236 schools of district Gurdaspur, Rs.1.12 crore for 65 schools of district Hoshiarpur, 2.43 crore rupees for 207 schools of district Jalandhar, 1.04 crore rupees for 115 schools of district Kapurthala, 0.94 crore rupees for 71 schools of district Ludhiana, 0.90 crore rupees for 50 schools of district Malerkotla, 1.20 crore rupees for 66 schools of district Mansa, 0.92 crore rupees for 66 schools of district Moga, 0.78 crore rupees for 87 schools of district Pathankot, 2.94 crore rupees for 161 schools of Patiala, 0.78 crore rupees for 109 schools of district Ropar, 1.70 crore rupees have been released for 84 schools of Sangrur. While Rs 1.73 crore rupees for 81 schools of SAS Nagar, 1.57 crore rupees for 115 schools of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, 0.65 crore rupees for 50 schools of Sri Muktsar Sahib and 1.44 crore rupees provided for 113 schools of district Tarn Taran.
