SGPC calls emergency meeting today: May take decision to replace Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh
Chandigarh: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has called an emergency meeting today. The meeting will begin at 11 am. The special thing is that the meeting has been called on a very short notice.
According to sources, once again a decision may be taken on the removal of Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
A meeting of the SGPC was also called last month. Earlier, there was talk of removing Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. But there was a split in the Akali Dal over Giani Harpreet Singh.
Prakash Singh’s aides, senior Akali leaders and Sukhbir Badal’s close aides came face to face with each other. After which Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal postponed this decision, sources familiar with the development said.
