SGPC President calls for Panthic action against Narayan Singh Chaura

Amritsar: SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has condemned the recent attack on Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal by Narayan Singh Chaura, describing it as a breach of the sanctity of Sri Harmandir Sahib and a violation of Sri Akal Takht Sahib’s orders.

Addressing the media following a meeting of the SGPC’s internal committee, Dhami said the incident has instilled fear among devotees who traveled from afar to pay obeisance at the revered shrine.

“The attack has disrupted the peaceful atmosphere, and strict panthic action must be taken against Narayan Singh Chaura,” he asserted.

The SGPC has appealed to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to expel Chaura from the Panth. Dhami also presented a resolution on this matter during the committee meeting.

To investigate the incident, the SGPC has formed a four-member committee, which has been tasked with submitting its report within three weeks.
