Shiromani Akali Dal leadership detained, police use water cannons
Chandigarh News: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leadership marched to gherao the CM’s residence in Chandigarh to protest against the SYL canal issue. Earlier, preparations were made by the Chandigarh Police by barricading.
SAD marched towards the CM’s residence after the meeting. During this time, the police stopped the Shiromani Akali Dal workers, after which the atmosphere became very tense.
SAD leaders have been brought to the Sector 26 police station in Chandigarh. During this time, the Akali workers raised slogans of Punjab Government Murdabad.
Police also used water cannons and barricades to stop Akali leaders to reach towards Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s house.
