Sukhbir Badal likely to contest Gidderbaha bypoll

Chandigarh: The Gidderbaha bypoll is expected to witness a major political contest. After resigning from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), the party’s constituency in-charge, Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon, will join the AAP on August 28.

Sources attribute Dimpy Dhillon’s move to AAP to the promise of a ticket for the bypoll. According to current developments, Sukhbir Badal is likely to contest the by-election from the Gidderbaha constituency.

This speculation seems to be confirmed by Sukhbir’s workers’ meeting in Gidderbaha constituency at village Badal today. In such a scenario, Sukhbir Badal and Dimpy Dhillon, who have long been political allies, could soon be seen making jabs at each other on the political stage.
