Sukhbir Singh Badal serves punishment at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib amid tight security
Chandigarh:Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal arrived at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib this morning to fulfil a punishment imposed by Sri Akal Takht Sahib. The visit was marked by heightened security, with police personnel, women officers, and other security agencies ensuring order.
Sukhbir Badal was escorted to the shrine in a secured vehicle. At the main gate, he took on the role of a sewadar (volunteer), holding a spear as part of his service. The prescribed punishment required him to perform three specific duties: serving as a sewadar for an hour, listening to Gurbani Kirtan for an hour, and cleaning utensils in the langar hall for another hour.
Several prominent figures, including SGPC president Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, former minister Sucha Singh Langah, Youth Akali Dal president Sarbjeet Singh Jhinjar, and other Akali leaders such as Bunty Rumana, Arshdeep Singh Kaler, Bhai Amarjit Singh Chawla, Hira Singh Gabria, and Gurpreet Singh Jhabbar were present.
