Three people killed in firing in Punjab’s Ferozepur

Chandigarh: Three persons, including a girl, were killed and two others seriously injured when six assailants on three motorcycles opened fire at a car in Kamboj Nagar area of the city on Tuesday, police said.

The deceased girl was scheduled to get married on October 27, due to which the entire family was busy preparing for the wedding. The deceased has been identified as Jaspreet Kaur, a resident of Kamboj Nagar.

His younger brother Anmol was seriously injured in the incident and has been referred to Ludhiana. Another youth named Lalli, who is said to be the girl’s cousin, has also died.

Two other brothers, Harpreet Singh and Akashdeep Singh, a resident of Basti Bagh Wali, also sustained bullet injuries in the incident, of which Akashdeep (23) died, while Harpreet Singh (27) is undergoing treatment at a private hospital here.

All the attackers fled from the spot after the incident that took place around 2 pm.

SSP Soumya Mishra along with a heavy police force reached the spot. The investigation is underway.
